ASSESSOR'S CLERK POSITION
The Assessor's Office follow New York State Real Property
Tax Laws along with ethics requirements.
Basic Job Duties include:
Maintain
hard copy and computerized property record files.
Update files with name and address changes, Sales data, and property improvements.
Review and process exemptions.
Process data received from Rensselaer County.
Type all correspondence as needed.
Assist with composing monthly reports.
Answer phone calls and respond timely to messages.
Assist residents visiting the office.
Process incoming mail and write letters to residents.
Coordinate with Rensselaer County for 911 numbers
Conduct map reading.
Photo copy and scan information as needed.
Maintain all office files and office supplies.
Keep petty cash up to date.
Support other staff as needed including the Board of Assessment Review members.
Keep abreast of changes to Real Property Tax Laws.
Assist Assessor with all department activities.
